ODMHSAS Children’s Mental Health Day at the Capitol

On April 16th, 2012, the Oklahoma Systems of Care and other statewide, community organizations will host a Picnic Celebration at the Oklahoma State Capitol.  This event is designed to raise awareness of issues concerning children’s mental health. The entire event is free and open to the public. There will be fun, family-friendly activities, entertainment, family trainings, and a free family-style dinner. The picnic will allow attendess to learn more and discuss issues related to children’s mental health with various community service providers and state leaders.

The activities and entertainment start at 3:30 p.m. on the north lawn of the Oklahoma State Capitol with a picnic-style dinner being  provided from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

When arriving at the picnic, all volunteers and families should check-in at the registration tables located on the lawn at the northwest corner of the Capitol building. At registration, families will receive their goody bag and be able to enter for door prizes.

Parking Information:

Indiviuals and families arriving before 5:00 p.m. should park in the Capitol visitor parking lots located on the south of the Capitol and in the west parking lot close to the Governor’s mansion. Individuals and families arriving after 5:00 p.m. may park in amy Capitol parking space as all reserves spaces are open at that time.

Children's Mental Health Day Registration

  • Multiple families attending together should register SEPARATELY.
  • For food planning purposes, please list the age of each child in your party.
  • This will help us better assign buddies with specific expertise.
